Deep River Hike

Come out and join Michigamea Lodge at the 2017 Deep River Hike. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a relaxing walk outdoors. All Scouts and their families are welcome to attend. You do not need to be a member of Michigamea Lodge to take part in the hike. Everyone has the opportunity to take part in a 5, 10 or 20 hike.

Working Towards Your Hiking Merit Badge? If so, then come out to the Deep River Hike to complete one of your required hikes.

Registration, concession stand, and Trail Hike Kick-off are located on Ainsworth Road (just east of Randolph Street).

Registration and Costs

No advanced registration is required. Registration begins at 8:00 am and the hike will kick off at 9:00 am.

Cost: $5 (includes hike patch)

Park Attraction

While enjoying a scenic and refreshing walk in the park, you can head over to the Visitor's Center at the Old Mill and purchase some delicious maple syrup and cornmeal. Each year at the Deep River Hike, scouts and their families really learning about this historic place.

About the Hikes

Michigamea Lodge sponsors two hikes during the year, the Deep River and the Potawatomi Trail Hike. These events offered by the Lodge are great opportunities for Scouts and Scouters as well as their families to experience some of the wonderful recourses in our own back yard.

The hikes are open to Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorers, Venturing Crews and Families. Hikers can choose either a 5, 10 or 20 mile hike. While at the hike, Lodge Arrowmen will be serving the Calumet Council Scouting Community with our Lodge Concession Stand.
